Inventory & Material Management

Simplify Inventory Management

Warehouses and distribution centers have a tremendous amount of inventory. The management of this inventory is paramount to business operation. RFID provides the ability to scan this inventory in bulk rather than having to individually scan each item one by one. It also allows for collection of data throughout traditional warehouse and distribution operations.

How it works

TAG ITEMS

1. Tag Items

Inventory and goods are tagged with RFID labels. Depending on the business case, RFID labels may only be attached at the highest unit of measure such as a pallet. In other cases, the RFID labels may be attached on the individual cases or item level. Each RFID label is serialized. Often times an RFID printer may be used to automate the printing and encoding of the RFID labels.

CONFIGURE READ POINTS

2. RFID Reader

As goods move throughout the warehouse and distribution center, the strategic RFID read points collect the movement of the goods. In addition, RFID handhelds can be used to conduct cycle counts or physical inventory counts using RFID. The key benefit is the speed of data collection as opposed to a barcode or manual count.

GAIN VALUABLE INSIGHT

3. Data Collection

The data that is collected can assist with business discussions such as tracking of inventory throughout a facility or management of inventory levels. In addition, the ability to conduct cycle counts and physical inventory counts in a more cost effective and efficient way produces intelligence on variances right away.

Valuable Workflows

Automate Cycle Counts/ Physical Inventory Counts

Use RFID handhelds to quickly and accurately count your inventory. Choose between a guided (see variances while scanning) or blind (only see what’s been counted) count.

Inventory Tracking

As product moves throughout your facility, take advantage of strategic read points to collect the movement of inventory. Examples of this include at the Dock Door or even in pick lanes and staging areas.!
