About the RFID Certification Exam

In the early days of RFID technology, the knowledge of these systems, what they do, how they work, how they are deployed and all the little details and difficulties with each one were only a privilege of the few. Fast forward to today and RFID technology has not only gained acceptance and relative wide-spread use, but the knowledge about the technology and how its deployed has also been much more accessible not just due to RFID training companies but also due to technology providers and their great blogs and publications. Because how else can we use this great technology if we don’t know enough about it?

So the knowledge and information is there but what has been lacking is some kind of streamlining, standardization and measurement of this knowledge that can be applicable to candidates in the industry. As we have done many RFID classes and met thousands of students, we know that they are indeed very knowledgeable but usually only in their vertical or niche and lack the overall understanding and comprehensive knowledge of the technology of all its parts, features and as a whole.

And this is what also the founders of the RFID Professional Institute must have seen and therefore decided to put out a certification that would help provide base of broad RFID knowledge for RFID professionals. So they came up with a concept introducing several levels of certifications starting with the Associate Level, which focuses on principles of RFID, common terms and their meanings and factors that influence system deployment and its performance. On top of this basic certification, there will be more levels, all the way to the Expert level.

• RFID Professional Institute Certified Specialist Exam (separate exams for passive (LF, HF & UHF), active and software – in future.
• RFID Professional Institute Certified RFID Expert – in future.
